Project-Based Service-Learning Form
The Center for Service and Community Engagement helps faculty members identify projects for upper division service-learning courses. Students enrolled in these classes work in teams to address a community need or research question, drawing upon previous knowledge and current coursework.
Below is a partial list of project-based service-learning courses for the 2013-2014 academic year. Please use the space provided to describe your organization’s project ideas and needs. A detailed response on your part helps us connect your organization to an appropriate project-based service-learning course.
Project-based service-learning courses in 2013-2014 include:
Students advocate for social policy that impacts women, children, youth, families, elderly, immigrant or minority communities OR assist with community organizing and development.
Students work in teams to design and present culturally relevant financial literacy workshops.
Students design posters for an event, fundraiser, auction, etc.
Students take photos for organization to use in publications and marketing materials.
Graduate students complete an education-related project such as research, workshop development, or curriculum review.
Graduate students assist with a "mini extreme makeover" project which would include fundraising, purchasing supplies, and labor.
