Academics: This exchange program is an exciting opportunity for highly independent, advanced Spanish-speakers prepared for the challenge of integrating directly into the regular life of a Spanish University and to study alongside Spanish students in Madrid, Spain. Comillas is Jesuit university, with small classes and a strong focus on faculty-student interaction. With over 70 exchange programs, Comillas is dedicated to international education, which means you will interact with students from all over the world. Students can take classes in both Spanish and English. There are currently 7,700 students enrolled at Comillas with 1000 international students. Classes for fall semester begin at the end of September and run through the middle of February. Second Semester begins at the end of February and runs through the middle of June. Students may participate for one or both of the semesters. Year-long participation recommended.

Credits: Full-time enrollment in 15 semester credits during one semester at Universidad Pontificia-Comillas will earn 22.5 quarter credits toward an SU degree.
Housing: Students have the option of a home stay or independent housing. There are no campus housing facilities so students are required to obtain housing on their own with the assistance of the university. Upon arrival in Madrid students will be provided with a list of potential housing opportunities to assist with the search. Finding housing can take time and involves the signing of a contract therefore it is advised that students arrive up to a week in advance in Madrid in order to complete the process.
Program Cost Estimates: As an exchange program, students will pay Seattle University tuition for the durations of the program. The cost of room and board will vary based on homestay (750-900 Euros) or independent housing. 100% aid portability.
- At least two years of college level Spanish or demonstrated competency in Spanish Language.
- Coursework at the 300 level strongly encouraged as a pre-requisite.
