Food

  • There are a number of policies and procedures in place to help protect all guests during any events at Seattle University. Because of the nature of some of the student events, special allowances have been made so that the groups may produce their own food at events. Because the following guidelines and policies are in place for the protection of event attendees, these are strictly enforced by all involved departments.

Students have two options when holding events with food on campus:

    1. If the students want to have an event catered, Bon Appétit must be the caterer. This is a requirement under the terms of the university's exclusive contract with Bon Appétit. Their menu (in Adobe PDF format) may be found online at this link.

Bon Appétit will do everything possible to assist student groups with budgetary constraints, including offering a lower cost "Express Menu" with items available for pick up. If students use the Express Menu option through Bon Appétit, the students must still comply with King County Health Department regulations. Conference and Event Services (CES) will help students meet those requirements.

    2. Students also have the option to prepare their own food or obtain food from an outside source (for example, QFC, Costco, Subway, Piecora's). With this option, student groups must comply with King County Health Department regulations. CES will work with the Event Organizers to ensure compliance. Four (4) weeks' advance notice is needed in order to meet these requirements.
