Opera divas Indra Thomas (right) and Melissa Parks perform arias and songs in a dramatic performance on January 26, 2013. In addition to a tribute to Johannes Brahms, they will present an Americana folk song suite and spirituals. Thomas, a soprano, and Parks, a mezzo-soprano, have performed with the Seattle Opera as well as in opera houses and recitals around the world.
“Thomas and Parks go beyond the opera world with an exciting mix of classical, folk, and spirituals,” said Dr.Quinton Morris, professor of music.
The January 26 program begins at 7:30 p.m. in Pigott Auditorium. Tickets, available at the door, are $5 for students; $8 faculty/staff; and $25 general admission.
This guest artist program is supported by funding from the Pigott Family Endowment for the Arts.
