  • Photo Competition Winners on Display in Kinsey Gallery

    March 22, 2013

College of Arts and Sciences Associate Dean Kathleen LaVoy announced the 17 winners and honorable mention photographers of the 2012 Imagining the World: Study Abroad and International Photography Competition. Their photos are now on display in the Kinsey Gallery. Ryan Green, International Student Director, joined a group of professional photographers who reviewed 130 submissions by 36 students.

“These 21 photographs go beyond capturing moments in time,” LaVoy said. “Each student shared a very personal window into the world.”

Students who study abroad as well as international students are eligible for the competition. Awards were given to Joyce Keeley, first place, for “Seaweed Harvest;” Ha Nguyen, international winner, for “Pioneer Square Station" (above); Melissa Howlett, second place, for “Jesus Was a Fisherman;” and Devan L. Miller, third place, for “Promenade.”

The public is invited to attend the awards reception on April 11, 5 – 7 p.m., in Kinsey Gallery.
