Matthew Whitlock, who received his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from the
Catholic University of America, comes to the Department of Theology and Religious Studies in the College of
Arts and Sciences as an Assistant Professor. He previously taught at Santa
Clara University. His training and experience in teaching include literature
and literary theory as well as New Testament studies. He brings not only the
mastery of Biblical Greek expected of a New Testament scholar but also mastery
of ancient Hebrew.
