Faculty in the Music Division welcome violinist Daniel Ching, founding member of the Miró Quartet, at its first chamber music concert of the year. Ching will join Professors Quinton Morris, violin, Amber Archibald, viola, Christie Chen, violoncello, Lee Peterson, piano, and Akiko Iguchi, piano, in a concert featuring the works of Beethoven, Brahms, and Dvorak. The chamber music concert takes place at 7:30 pm on October 7 in Pigott Auditorium.Ching is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and completed his Masters degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He is currently on the faculty at the Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin where he teaches private violin students and coaches chamber music. Tickets are $5 for SU students, $8 for SU faculty and staff, and $12 general admission. Tickets will be available at the door beginning at 6:30 p.m. The College of Arts and Sciences, the largest college in Seattle University, offers 33 undergraduate degrees, including degrees in music and string performance and an MFA in Arts Leadership.
