  • Argentinian Philosopher Ferreyra Presents on Hegel and Deleuze

    Dr. Julián Ferreyra presents “Ideas: From Hegel to Deleuze” on January 27. Ferreyra, a native of Buenos Aires, is currently a Fulbright Fellow at Harvard University. A prolific scholar, Ferreyra recently published L’ontologie du capitalisme chez Gilles Deleuze (Paris: L’Harmattan,2010).

    “Ferreyra brings increased understanding about the philosophical currents that range from political conservatism to Marxism,” said Philosophy Professor Jason Wirth.

    Hegel and Deleuze were influential European philosophers.Hegel taught at the universities of Erlangen, Berlin, and Heidelberg during theearly part of the 19th century. Deleuze, who died in 1995, taught at theSorbonne, University of Lyon, and University of Paris VIII.

    Ferreyra’s presentation takes place at 4 p.m. on January27, in Hunthausen 100. It is free and open to the public.

    The College of Arts and Sciences, the largest college in Seattle University, offers 33 undergraduate and 7 advanced degrees.
