  • Shobe Named Building Changes Executive Director

    January 11, 2012

Alice Shobe has been appointed executive director of Building Changes, effective April 2, 2012. Shobe, a member of the Master of Nonprofit Leadership (MNPL) Visiting Committee, an advisory board, had been deputy director. MNPL is one of seven advanced degree programs offered by the College of Arts and Sciences.

“Building Changes is a leader in providing housing and social services to people who are homeless and families at risk,” said Michael Bisesi, MNPL director. “Her expertise and experience are invaluable in helping us prepare leaders in the nonprofit sector.”

Shobe will replace Betsy Lieberman, who has led the agency for 24 years. Lieberman consistently focused on promoting the dignity, health, safety, and prosperity of people with the greatest need, including creating service-enriched housing for people living with HIV/AIDS and consulting with government agencies, philanthropy, and housing and service providers in all 50 states as well as the U.S. territories.

Shobe has been on the MNPL Visiting Committee since 2005.

The College of Arts and Sciences, the largest college in Seattle University, offers 33 undergraduate and 7 advanced degrees.
