  • SAM’s Manchanda to Address Artistic Engagement

    April 9, 2012

Seattle Art Museum’s Catharina Manchanda, the Jon & Mary Shirley Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, presents “All Eyes on You,” on April 19. Manchanda will discuss the surprising rise of the viewer as the focal point of artistic developments in the last fifteen to twenty years.

“If you’ve often wondered about what you should be doing when you encounter some new piece of art that asks you to ‘engage’ with it, Manchanda has the answer,” said Art History Professor Ken Allan.

This free public lecture takes place at 6 p.m. on April 19 in Wyckoff Auditorium. The event is sponsored by the Fine Arts Department and the Pigott Family Endowment for the Arts.

The College of Arts and Sciences, the largest college in Seattle University, offers 33 undergraduate and 7 advanced degrees. The Fine Arts Department offers undergraduate degrees in visual art and art history, music, and theatre and an MFA in Arts Leadership.
