Winner declared in president's reading list contest

Posted on Wednesday, June 19, 2013

JocelynTidwell_WCCongratulations to Jocelyn Tidwell, administrative coordinator in the Office of University Planning and the Vice Provost, for being the person who has read the most books on Father Steve's reading list from this past year. She checked in with a whopping 10 titles.

Word has it that Jocelyn has recommended a book or two to the president, but we didn't let this disqualify her from the competition. Her triumph earned her a Commons hat.

Here are the books from Father Steve's latest list that Jocelyn has read:

A timbered choir : the sabbath poems, 1979-1997 (Wendall Berry)
Hannah Coulter : a novel (Wendall Berry)
Swan : poems and prose poems (Mary Oliver)
Rilke's book of hours : love poems to God (Rainier Maria Rilke)
Sailing alone around the room : new and selected poems (Billy Collins)
Nine horses : poems (Billy Collins)
A door in the hive (Denise Levertov)
Evening train (Denise Levertov)
This great unknowing : last poems (Denise Levertov)
A year with Rilke : daily readings from the best of Rainer Maria Rilke (Rainer Maria Rilke)
