Seattle University students packed Campion Ballroom Tuesday, to hear Grammy-Award winning artist N.E.R.D speak. During their U.S. concert tour, the group has stopped by college campuses and chose Seattle U before their Key Arena show.

Asst. Professor of Music Quinton Morris interviewed the group about everything - from how they got started in the industry, to what inspired their current album, “Nothing,” released earlier this week. Pharrell Williams and Shay Haley said after a hiatus, it’s the fans that keep them coming back.

Williams spoke directly about being teased because he was “different and weird” as a child. He dedicates the song, “God Bless Us All” to those being bullied throughout the country right now. “It’s not a black or gay issue,” he said. “It’s a human issue.”
