Head Seattle University women’s basketball coach Joan Bonvicini announced the addition of sophomore Nichole Jackson (Bonney Lake, Wash.) to the Redhawk hoops squad. Jackson transfers to Seattle U from Portland State University.

“I am excited to have Nichole join our program,” said Bonvicini. “I think she is going to be an outstanding addition, especially with her athleticism, and it is great to have another local player.”

Jackson spent one-and-a-half seasons at PSU, from 2009-10. During that time, she saw action in 33 games, tallying 37 rebounds, 29 points, 23 assists, 11 steals and a block.

The 5-9 point guard is a 2009 graduate of Auburn Riverside High School. She earned numerous accolades during her prep career, including leading the 2007 Washington State 3A Tournament in assists, with 3.75.

Jackson was also an All-SPSL North selection twice and earned multiple HoopGurlz Challenge accolades.

Due to NCAA transfer rules, Jackson will be required redshirt one full year. She will be eligible to officially play in games beginning in the Winter of 2012.
