The Seattle University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held its seventh annual “Swishes for Wishes” student versus faculty/staff basketball game earlier this week, and helped raise nearly $2,000 for the Alaska and Washington chapters of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The staff/faculty narrowly won the game by three points. SU Executive Vice President Dr. Tim Leary, coached the faculty/staff team and ASSU president, Katie Wieliczkiewicz coached the student team.
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The SAAC was created to encourage student-athlete involvement in campus and community projects. The “Swishes for Wishes” game has become one of the major projects that SAAC members focus on and look forward to each year.
