New Student Immersions

International District

  •  Social Justice Immersion Focus on the International District

Seattle University sits within walking distance of the cultural home of the Pan-Asian community of Seattle. It's the only neighborhood in America where Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Southeast Asians live and work together, side-by-side. On this immersion, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the rich history of this neighborhood, including learning about the effects of the Japanese Internment. During the immersion, we'll take a walking tour with the unofficial Mayor of the International District, garden, square dance, and play ping pong with Asian elders, and learn about how this neighborhood is navigating a changing Seattle.

    Limited to 10 students.
