Congratulations goes out to five SU College of Nursing graduate students, whose abstracts have been accepted for presentation at this year’s Sigma Theta Tau convention in Indianapolis, this coming November. The team has been working on research around cardiovascular health and disease prevention in partnership with the Hope Heart Institutes’ Teen Take Heart™program.
Over the past year, the team has worked very hard to further develop the Teen Take Heart program, and we’re very excited for their opportunity to showcase their leadership in the efforts to continue the health education and prevention of cardiovascular disease (the number one cause of death for both men and women in the United States). Congratulations! Donald Baumer & Nelly Ayala will present their poster, "Teen Take Heart: Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Targeting At-Risk Adolescents in Vulnerable Communities" Maegon Williams & Danielle Sherer will present their poster, "Teen Take Heart Summer Teacher Workshop"Cara Koch will give an oral presentation on "Promoting Cardiovascular Health in Underserved Communities"Additionally, Dr. Steven Palazzo will showcase the Teen Take Heart program as an outcome of his work as a Nurse Faculty Leadership Academy Fellow.
