From University News:
U.S. News recognizes SU as premier institution
For the eighth consecutive year, Seattle University has been recognized as one of the top higher education institutions in the country by U.S. News and World Report. Hitting newsstands today, the 2009 print edition of "America's Best Colleges" ranked SU sixth in the category of "Best Universities - Master's" in the West.
This is the second top ranking Seattle University has received this month in a leading college guide. The Princeton Review's 2009 edition of The Best 368 Colleges honored Seattle University with its highest ratings in "best quality of life" and "academics" in Seattle.
"It's been a great year at Seattle University," said SU Provost Isiaah Crawford. "Our business school was honored by the White House, our law school celebrated its 35th anniversary, and a record number of students chose to attend SU. We are realizing our goal of becoming the premier independent university of the Northwest."
U.S. News recognized SU for continued excellence in various categories, including peer assessment, freshmen retention, graduation rate, class size and student selectivity.
U.S. News ranked Seattle U's undergraduate engineering and business programs among the best in the country. The College of Science and Engineering placed 38th in the U.S., and the Albers School of Business and Economics was listed among the top 50 private business schools in the nation.
