Desktop Support

Desktop Support provides technical PC, Mac, and printer support to Seattle University faculty and staff. Desktop Support services are assigned to support cases by the OIT Help Desk.

Requesting Assistance

When initially contacting the OIT Helpdesk, please be ready with the following information:

  • Computer Name: (This may be found from typing http://mypc in the address bar of your browser while on the campus network.)
  • Computer Brand and Model:  Please let us know what type of computer you are using.  For example, a Dell Optiplex 745.
  • Please describe what is not working and then what you are trying to do.  We will ask for additional details as needed.

Technical Support

Staff and faculty computers, PC and Apple, are supported by Desktop Support. If you have a question about your computer or if you are experiencing a technical problem, please contact the OIT Help Desk or call (206) 296-5571 for assistance. If the Help Desk determines your inquiry requires Tier II escalation, you will be asked to for additional information for your support request with the OIT Help Desk. Please have the following information ready:

  • Computer name
  • What operating system you are using
  • Are you using a Mac or PC.
  • If your machine is Seattle University or personally owned.
  • If an error message appears, fully copy/paste the error message into an email sent to helpdesk@seattleu.edu
