Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Virtual Private Network (VPN) creates a secure, encrypted connection to the Seattle University main campus network from networks outside of the campus firewall. It allows access to specific Seattle University network resources as if your computer was connected directly on campus.

Requesting Access

All faculty, staff, students, and accepted applicants with a Seattle University network account automatically have access to VPN. Please refer to the OIT Knowledge Base article regarding installing VPN and accessing the service.

Technical Support

VPN is supported by the OIT Help Desk. If you have a question about installing or using VPN or if you are experiencing a technical issue with this service, please contact the OIT Help Desk at (206) 296-5571 or helpdesk@seattleu.edu for assistance. In the event of technical difficulties, the following information must be provided to the Help Desk so they may better assist you:

  • Web browser name and version.
  • The type and version of the operating system you are using.
  • If you are connected to the Seattle University campus network or not on the campus network.
  • Any error messages you receive when attempting to login or install the VPN service.
