Computer Refresh Program (CRP)

The Computer Refresh Program (CRP) is an initiative to ensure the timely and efficient replacement of the computers used in our classrooms, computer labs, public spaces and offices. The goal of this initiative is to provide Seattle University students, faculty and staff with current and reliable technological tools for their work and studies. Because computers are a key tool in learning, teaching, and working at Seattle University, the implementation of the CRP is a positive step in responsibly utilizing our tuition-driven budget while ensuring that our students, faculty, and staff have the necessary computing resources.

This initiative ensures that every computer owned by the university is replaced after four years of service. The cost for the replacement is funded at the university level and is managed by OIT. This eliminates the need for individual cost centers and/or divisions to bear the cost of computer replacements for desktop and laptop computers. Consolidating the university’s purchasing power allows the university to save money. In addition, the CRP features four standard models (Mac laptop, PC laptop, Mac desktop, and PC desktop), allowing replacement machines to be kept in stock.

*NOTE: CRP does NOT include monitors, docking stations, and other peripherals. We only supply the computer itself. If you need extra equipment then that must be paid for by your department.

We have completed Computer Refresh Program per department.

We will continue follow up and refresh anyone that was missed during the process.  During this refresh cycle, Dell GX745 & GX755 desktops and Dell D610, D620, D630, and E6400 Laptops were replaced.  We also refreshed older models of Mac Desktops and MacBook Pros.  If you have one of these models, and believe you should have been refreshed but was not, please send us an email at Helpdesk@seattleu.edu.  In the email please include the computer name, serial number, your name and location.

If you have a Lenovo computer or laptop which has Windows XP, please visit the OIT XP Upgrade page (http://www.seattleu.edu/oit/ServicesDetail.aspx?id=136922) to see if you are listed as needing an upgrade.
