Computer Refresh Program (CRP)

The Computer Refresh Program (CRP) is an initiative to ensure the timely and efficient replacement of the computers used in our classrooms, computer labs, public spaces and offices. The goal of this initiative is to provide Seattle University students, faculty and staff with current and reliable technological tools for their work and studies. Because computers are a key tool in learning, teaching, and working at Seattle University, the implementation of the CRP is a positive step in responsibly utilizing our tuition-driven budget while ensuring that our students, faculty, and staff have the necessary computing resources.

This initiative ensures that every computer owned by the university is replaced after four years of service. The cost for the replacement is funded at the university level and is managed by OIT. This eliminates the need for individual cost centers and/or divisions to bear the cost of computer replacements for desktop and laptop computers. Consolidating the university’s purchasing power allows the university to save money. In addition, the CRP features four standard models (Mac laptop, PC laptop, Mac desktop, and PC desktop), allowing replacement machines to be kept in stock.

*NOTE: CRP does NOT include monitors, docking stations, and other peripherals. We only supply the computer itself. If you need extra equipment then that must be paid for by your department.

Current Computer Refresh Schedule

Desktop Services is currently working through the 2013 CRP schedule.  As we prepare to refresh the computers in each department we will reach out 2-4 weeks before planned deployment for specific user information.  At this time we are currently scheduling 3 to 4 weeks in advance.

You can also check for departments which have been completed.  If you do not see your department currently scheduled or on the completed list, pleases keeping checking this site for updates.  We will be updating this list weekly.

We are expecting a shipment of Lenovo Computers on April 15th, and to start delivering the computers as of April 21st.
