AJ is a junior at Seattle University
and is majoring in Digital Design. His passion for fitness started when he first
moved to the US 3 years ago from Saudi Arabia. AJ continued to be more eager to
expand his knowledge about fitness, and decide to become certified as a
personal trainer and a group fitness instructor. AJ loves teaching because of
seeing he feels joy from seeing his class participants happy with what they are

a full time fitness professional certified by the American Council on Exercise
(ACE), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and YogaFit. She
recently added an ACE MindBody certification to her repertoire. Her experience
spans ten years and four universities. She truly believes that "health is
the greatest wealth" and thus strives to offer a fun and safe workout so
that participants can keep up with it for a lifetime! Expect to maximize your time
with a full-body, mood-lifting workout in Anne's classes.

Ben is currently a sophomore,
Sports and Exercise Science major. Playing soccer throughout childhood in his
hometown near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he has always enjoyed being active and
staying fit. Looking for a new venue for exercise, Ben began taking cycling
classes at Seattle University. After enjoying the energy and effort required
for indoor cycling, he decided to become a certified cycling instructor through
Mad Dogg Athletics. His classes are high energy, ever-evolving, and a fun time
for all skill levels. Ben is looking to use his education and experience here
at UREC to pursue a career in sports medicine.

excites Christin every day. Christin has been teaching group fitness classes
since 2006 and holds many credentials including a Master’s of Science degree in
Kinesiology and the following nationally recognized certifications: American

Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Primary Group Exercise instructor,
Yogafit level 1 and 2 and ZUMBA basics.

Claire is a
senior at SU pursuing degrees in Environmental Studies and Philosophy.
She first experienced yoga at a young age with her dad, and has been teaching
classes for students, staff, and varsity athletes since 2012. She is
inspired by her students and fellow teachers, and is excited to continue to
learn and share her love of yoga this year at the Eisiminger Fitness
Center. Claire teachers a Hatha Vinyasa style of yoga, which blends
breath work with stationary poses through movement.
Wednesday/Friday: Yoga Flow
Claire received a 200 Registered Yoga Teacher
(RYT) certification in Vinyasa Flow yoga from YogaLife Studios in 2010 and has
been teaching ever since. She started practicing yoga as rehab from a torn
hamstring, and now seeks to combine the musicality and discipline of her
background in classical ballet and modern dance with the centering practices of
yoga. Claire’s classes combine breath work, held stretches and vigorous flow.
She strives to bring humor, challenge and great music to every class. All are
welcome- you just have to show up, be curious and breathe!

Darcy is a certified yoga
therapist and instructor through The American Viniyoga Institute. She has
practiced a variety of yoga styles over the last decade and for the last five
years has concentrated her study on yoga anatomy, yoga for specific conditions,
and adapting yoga in group contexts to serve a wide variety of body types and
abilities. Her goals are to help students safely develop strength and
flexibility, find relief from the stress of busy lives, and experience the
focused attention and increased well-being yoga can offer. She loves noodles,
cake and a good book on a rainy afternoon.
Monday/Wednesday/Friday: Mindful Yoga
Emily teaches classes that work to cultivate a greater
mind-body awareness through exploring the body's potential. After practicing
religiously for six years, Emily began teaching in April 2013. She is a
certified YogaFit Instructor, and is in the process of completing her 200-Hour
Registered Yoga Teacher training trough Live, Love, Flow. As a graduate in Psychology, she hopes to
utilize yoga as a mode of therapy and a catalyst for personal development.
Emily's classes integrate balancing postures, conscious breathing, and fun,
fluid sequences to offer the space and opportunity to enhance body strength and

Kate is an
undergraduate student at Seattle University and currently pursuing a degree in
Nursing. After coming to Seattle for school, she met many wonderful people who
helped and encouraged her to pursue the yoga lifestyle further. Kate’s
practiced deepened, which encouraged her to get certified through YogaFit in
2013. Her practice continues to deepen each day and she aspires to share her
passion for yoga with others!
Tuesday: Power Yoga 5:15-6:15pm
a graduate of Seattle University Nursing School and has been teaching yoga
at SU since 2002. Louise received her Yoga Teaching Certificate from
Samadhi Yoga in Seattle. Louise brings her education as a Registered
Nurse, Licensed Massage Therapist and Five Element Acupuncturist to her
teaching. Louise stresses the importance of relaxation to stay
healthy in body, mind and spirit. Louise believes that we can free our
body as we free our mind.
Restorative Yoga 5:00-6:00pm
Margaret is an undergraduate student at Seattle
University majoring in accounting. She is a certified YogaFit Level One
instructor and teaches the Yoga Flow class. You’ll also see Margaret working
the front desk position at Seattle University Recreation Center, Live Love Flow
yoga studio, and Barre3 exercise studio. Yoga has changed her life by helping
her find balance, and she is eager to share that with others in the Seattle University
community. Margaret loves meeting the variety of people at the studios and in
her classes, and is inspired by them everyday.
Yoga Flow 7:30-8:30pm
through YogaFit, Megan emphasizes students allowing themselves to
detach from their daily stresses, reconnecting with their breath and
calming mental turmoil. Sequences include a mix of fiery effort and
slower, held postures. Megan is a Political Science major at SU.

is currently a professional Belly dancer and Bollywood dancer, have been salsa
dancing since 2007, belly dancing since 2008 Bollywood dancing since 2011,
certified in teaching Zumba fitness since 2007. She is just a little dance crazy.
Petra grew up in Austria and came to the Pacific Northwest as
a young adult. She completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees there, and
then taught in the Master’s of Education program at Antioch University Seattle.
While her work with adults around equity and oppression was engaging and
challenging, she wanted to reach students in a more holistic manner. Petra
loves teaching yoga and creating space for students to feel physically,
emotionally, and spiritually transformed and empowered. She completed her
200-hour teacher training at 8 Limbs Yoga Centers in 2013 and has been teaching
yoga classes at universities, yoga studios, and health clinics since then. Her
classes focus on alignment, sustaining health, and finding fun and love in

Sydney is a Sports and Exercise
Science major originally from Eastern Washington. She has been a cycling
enthusiast for more than three years, and is excited to now share her passion
with others. Growing up she danced ballet, participated in competitive dance
teams, and has even taken the Key Arena court with Seattle University's dance
team. She received her G.E.A.R cycling training in early 2014.
Wednesday: Cycling 6:15-7:00am
currently a sophomore at SU and is studying Sports and Exercise Science. She
was born in Korea and moved to Guam when she was 8 years old. Rury loves taking
group fitness classes and doing different workouts. Rury has been teaching
Zumba since 2012. Rury’s Zumba classes include a lot of reggaeton (Latin
hip-hop) and high intensity songs. She love teaching at UREC because the
students are always full of energy and are eager to work out!
