Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program
Comprehensive 9- to 12-month professional development program in Germany

Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems
Fellowship programs for students of all backgrounds interested in gaining hands-on experience in sustainable energy and clean technology

William J. Clinton Fellowship for Service in India
Through ten months of service and fieldwork, Fellows gain knowledge of development on the ground in the fields of education, livelihoods, public health, and social enterprise


The Spencer Foundation
Research grants and fellowship awards towards doctoral research in the field of education

Joint Japan / World Bank Graduate Scholar Program
Covers tuition, travel, and costs of living towards master's degrees in the fields of development (such as economics, health, education, agriculture, environment, natural resource management, etc.) in universities across the world

Grants for educational projects and professional development

Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program
Supports doctoral research work in economic development through a 5-10 month residency period in a country outside the fellow's home or residence country

The Gilder Lehrman History Scholars Program

Southeast Asian Studies Summer Institute Scholarships
3 types of scholarships covering tuition and stipends for an 8-week intensive language program at UW-Madison

Columbia University Institute for Comparative Literature and Society Postdoctoral Fellowship
$25,000, benefits, and travel for postdoctoral fellows to work on the topic of language learning and/or translation to produce an informed global scholarship and practice 

Social Sciences

Social Science Research Council (SSRC) Fellowships
Information on many SSRC fellowships and grants offering predissertation, dissertation, and postdoctoral support in the social sciences and other disciplines 

International Dissertation Research Fellowships
Gives $20,000 for doctoral research in the humanities and social sciences conducted outside of the United States

University of Maryland Summer Research Initiative
An 8-week program at the University of Maryland, College Park preparing students for graduate programs in behavioral, social, or economic sciences. All expenses are paid and stipends are given

The Martin Luther King, Jr., Papers Project Summer Research Fellowship
Summer fellowship working on preserving the historical legacy of the civil rights movement through the publication of Dr. King's papers
