COMPUTER SCIENCE FUNDAMENTALS CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Seattle University
invites applications for a full-time, multi-year, renewable, non-tenure-track Instructor
position beginning September 2014. Applicantsmust have experience teaching a range of undergraduate computer science
courses. Responsibilities will include
teaching in a Computer Science Fundamentals certificate program, serving as the
director of the certificate program, teaching in other programs offered by the
department and departmental service.
candidates will demonstrate interest in teaching and mentoring prospective
graduate students who are pursuing studies in computer science after completing
undergraduate degrees in other disciplines, an ability to teach in one or more
of the degree programs offered by the department, and a genuine desire to
contribute to the mission of Seattle University.
Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering offers undergraduate
and masters degrees in computer science and a Master of Software Engineering
degree. It is creating a Computer
Science Fundamentals certificate program to prepare students who lack a
computer science degree for entry into the Master of Science in Computer
Science degree program. The department
has strong relationships with many local companies, including the leading

M.S. in computer science or a related discipline; experience
teaching undergrad computer science courses; strong teaching recommendations. A Ph.D. in
computer science is desirable.
