COMPUTER SCIENCE AND SOFTWARE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
ASSISTANT OR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
The Computer Science and Software Engineering Department at
Seattle University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or
Associate Professor beginning September 2015.
Applicants must have teaching and research expertise in either software
engineering or systems. Responsibilities will include teaching,
maintaining active scholarship and university service.
Successful candidates will demonstrate interest in teaching
and mentoring undergraduates and graduate students; have a commitment to
continued scholarly growth; and a genuine desire to contribute to the mission
of Seattle University. Candidates having expertise with teaching in an online
environment are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements: Ph.D. in computer science or a related
discipline; strong teaching recommendations.
The Computer Science and Software Engineering Department is
a component of the College of Science and Engineering. It offers
undergraduate and masters degrees in computer science and operates the nation’s
oldest Master of Software Engineering program, with an enrollment of about 150
undergraduate majors and 80 graduate students. The department has strong
relationships with many local companies, including the leading technology
companies headquartered nearby. A senior capstone project program
sponsored by these companies enhances our students’ educational experiences and
