The mission of the Sustainability Fund is to encourage sustainability on campus by funding renewable energy, energy efficiency and other projects that reduce green house gas emissions, demonstrate sustainable design and replenish the fund through cost savings. The Sustainability Fund will empower Seattle University to build a sustainable community based on student needs and desires.
Example: If a student makes a proposition to make all lights in the Student Center solar powered then the Sustainability Fund would fund the project to have the lights changed. The money that is saved on the electrical bill would go back into the Sustainability Fund. The money put into the Sustainability Fund will go toward more projects in the future that will better our campus and the community at whole.
