Engaging Children and Youth

Youth Development

  • Through the Youth Initiative, several campus-community partnerships provide neighborhood youth with mentoring and leadership development in order to have success in school and in life.

    Just Serve

Just Serve mobilizes SU students to mentor Garfield high school students through a year-long series of service days and social justice activities.

    Seattle Youth Traffic Court

Through the Seattle Youth Traffic Court Garfield High School students operate a City of Seattle supported court and sentence their peers who have received traffic tickets in Seattle.

    Rotary Boys and Girls Club

The Rotary Boys and Girls Club offers after-school and summer academic and enrichment programs for neighborhood youth.  The Seattle University Department of Athletics facilitates recreation sessions at the Club and dozens of SU students serve as tutors and recreation leaders.

    Other partners

Many other campus and community partners provide youth development activities for neighborhood youth.  See the full list of Youth Initiative partners.
